You can create a free account from your web browser here. After you create an account, you can access your notes on the web. At any time you can go to simplenoteapp.com and click Sign In at the top of the page to access your notes.

If you download Simplenote for iPhone and iPad, you can instead create your account when you launch the app for the first time.
